Trio of new champions take charge at LXF 4
Mike Quintero, Albert Morales and Arut Pogosjan take home titles
Former CXF champion Mike Quintero made his championship dreams a reality a second time by sneaking past Brazilian brawler Jay Silva via split decision to win the Lights Out Xtreme Fighting heavyweight championship.
The Los Angeles City College kinesiology professor handed Silva a lesson he won’t soon forget when he rebounded after a slow start to build momentum in round two, going on to dominate round three to win 29-28 (x2), while one other judge had it 29-28 in favor of Silva.
At the age of 43, Quintero (6-2) made LXF history by becoming the oldest champion in league history as the main event in front of a sold out arena at the Burbank Marriott Events Center in Burbank, California on Nov. 15. LXF 4 will air on regional Fox Sports channels in the Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, Florida, Arizona, Ohio, Las Vegas and Hawaii, and other markets. Check local listings for official dates.
Quintero, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, made paydirt by masterfully working Silva on the mat, who survived deep waters in the final two minutes of the match by fighting off arm bars and rear naked chokes. Before that, the southpaw Silva (12-13-1) bloodied and bruised Quintero in the first round with a crisp stand-up game but began to lose steam in the second round when he was bludgeoned to the body with vicious blows by Quintero.

Jay Silva wants to defend title the right way
Former middleweight wants to make mark as LXF heavyweight champion
Jay Silva is the LXF heavyweight champion, but he didn’t win it in a fashion he was particularly proud of.
The Brazilian brawler picked up the belt from Jack May at LXF 2 when May did not accept a fine from the California State Athletic Commision after both fighters were involved in a fight during the weigh-in, and thus, forfeited the title.
May beat Mike Quintero to win the title during LXF 1, and now, the Mexican fighter will have his second chance at glory when he takes on Silva on Nov. 15 as the main event for LXF 4 at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center.

Jiu-jitsu black belt takes on Brazilian brawler Jay Silva
Mike Quintero headlined the main event for LXF 1 under the bright lights of the inaugural show with a shot to win the heavyweight title. It was a rematch with Jack May, a fighter he submitted the previous year. Instead of taking the fight back on the ground, Quintero was dominated on his feet for the entirety of the night.

Former UFC veteran looks to impress in second LXF title shot
Albert Morales has two wins in Bellator and is a six-fight veteran of the UFC, but if you ask the 28-year-old Belizean bantamweight with 15 career appearances in the cage, he’s both a rookie and a veteran.

Bantamweight makes LXF debut on Nov. 15
Ryan "The Lion" Lilley, who trains under the tutelage of Bas Rutten, will look to cement his own champion status when he takes on Albert Morales for the vacant LXF bantamweight title on Nov. 15 as the co-main event for LXF 4 at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center.
The always-entertaining Lilley is never in a dull fight. He has 10 career wins and nine have ended via finishes, eight of which have come in the first round, including a head kick, highlight reel KO earlier this year in Bellator.
