Former middleweight wants to make mark as LXF heavyweight champion
Jay Silva is the LXF heavyweight champion, but he didn’t win it in a fashion he was particularly proud of.
The Brazilian brawler picked up the belt from Jack May at LXF 2 when May did not accept a fine from the California State Athletic Commision after both fighters were involved in a fight during the weigh-in, and thus, forfeited the title.
May beat Mike Quintero to win the title during LXF 1, and now, the Mexican fighter will have his second chance at glory when he takes on Silva on Nov. 15 as the main event for LXF 4 at the Burbank Marriott Convention Center.
